Sally Cookson is the Olivier Award-nominated director renowned for her creative and brilliant staging of another children's classic, The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe at the West Yorkshire Theatre. She was also involved in other hit shows including Jane Eyre, Cinderella, Hetty Feather, and La Strada. Cookson is accompanied behind the stage by Michael Vale heading features design, Dominic Bilkey in charge of sound design, Aideen Malone as the lighting designer and Mike Akers handling the dramaturgy. Peter Pan features original music by Benji Bower and movement direction by Dan Canham.

The musical features the same story beats you have probably heard as a child with added elements of aerial acrobatics, live music and an on-stage band that adds extra pomp to the proceedings. The show begins when Peter Pan, leader of the Lost Boys, loses his shadow during a visit to London. There he encounters the spirited and headstrong Wendy who takes it upon herself to help him reattach it. Wendy's determination is rewarded with a special invitation to the magical and enchanting world of Neverland. On their way to Neverland, Wendy encounters the fearsome Captain Hook, Tinker Bell, the fairy and Tiger Lily. What happens during these run-ins form the crux of the story. Follow Wendy and Peter on a heartfelt exploration of what it takes to grow up and the power of possibilities and imagination.
