Music Box Theatre | Seating Chart, Tickets, Tips & More

Music Box Theatre was built in the year 1921 to house Irving Berlin’s The Music Box Revue after his friend Sam H. Harris, a theatrical producer, promised the famous songwriter that he would find a theatre to showcase a Revue written by him. The theatre has housed some of the most riveting shows since its opening almost a century ago, like Paris, a musical by Cole Porter, Invitation to a March by Arthur Laurent, The Homecoming by Harold Pinter, and some Tony Award winning theatre plays like Jerusalem, Two Guvnors, and One Man.

At present, the Music Box Theatre is staging the six-time Tony Award winning play Dear Evan Hansen, which is based on a book by Steven Levenson and is directed by Michael Greif, a Tony Award nominee. The play has been described as original and transformative because of its relatable storyline that revolves around the life of Evan Hansen who gets the one thing he always wanted, which was a chance to fit in. Playing At Music Box Theatre

Dear Evan Hansen

“The musical is ideal for families looking for something yeastier and more complex than the usual sugary diversions. But then it should also appeal to just about anyone who has ever felt, at some point in life, that he or she was trapped “on the outside looking in,” as one lyric has it. Which is just about everybody with a beating heart”
