London County Hall seating plan | Best seats & views at the best prices

Last Updated:

Since the London County Hall was not designed to function as a performance venue, its structure is very different from your regular West End or Broadway theatre. The octagonal Chamber is located at the centre of County Hall and houses a total of 210 stall-style seats and three galleries that encircle the Chamber and provide an elevated viewing experience.

London County Hall - Recommended Seats

Value for money seats
Stalls/Judge's Circle: Middle row seats
North/South Galleries: Front row seats
Best views of the stage
Judge's Circle: Front row seats
Central Gallery: Front row seats
Since the theatre is relatively small, most seats offer decent views.

To make the categorization easy, the seats have been divided into 6 sections. The outer three blocks of seats are labeled North Gallery, Central Gallery, and South Gallery. These seats are elevated and offer a vantage point look at the main stage. Since the Chamber is shaped like a courtroom, the three gallery seating sections flank the stage facing side from three directions.

On the ground level, there are three additional seating sections including Stalls, Judge’s Circle, and VIP Jury Box. The stalls make up for the seating section that encircles the stage and is also the biggest, covering more than 2/3rd of the total area. The seats in the remaining two sections, Judge’s Circle and VIP Jury Box are on the other end of the stage towards the end of the stage. Overall, the since the seats are quite close together, you don’t have to worry as that much about which seat you purchase.

Which Seats Offer The Best View?

The Chamber at London County Hall only houses 210 seats, making it one of the smallest full-scale West End theatre hosting a major production. Given that there aren’t that many seats to begin with, your task of choosing the best seats isn’t really that important. Still, if you want to ensure that you book the seats which offer the best view of the stage, we have a few options you should consider.

The center seats in the front few rows of all three blocks of the stage offer a direct, obstruction-free look at the stage. The front row seats in the Judge’s Circle are equally great in terms of the view offered. If you prefer viewing the show from a height, the front row seats in the Central Gallery is a great choice.

Which Seats Offer the Best Value for Money?

While there isn’t a lot of variety when it comes to price points for the seats available at the Chamber, there are still quite a few options you can choose from when it comes to value-for-money seats. The middle row seats in the three stalls and the Judge’s Circle are a great steal since the view offered is almost as good as the one offered by the front row seats at a much lower price.

The front few rows in the corner two galleries, North and South, are also great value for money seats. Generally, since the theatre isn’t really that big, you won’t be paying a whopping price anyway.
