  • Mandatory to purchase tickets online
  • Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Only 40x30 cm bags are allowed. They must be worn in front or by hand
  • There is no cloakroom available
  • Forbidden to eat or drink on the visit route, and animals are not allowed
  • Audio guides have been temporarily suspended

Catacombs of Paris Reopening Date - 16th June 2020


Catacombs of Paris has officially opened to welcome all visitors. However, strict guidelines have been advised by the authorities in order to provide a safe and seamless experience for all visitors.

Safety Measures in Place at Catacombs of Paris


To maintain maximum safety it is mandatory for all guests to bring their masks and it should be worn throughout the visit. Social distancing of 1-2 meters must be followed at all times.

Hydroalcoholic gel is available at the entrance for visitors to avail.

Due to the underground constraints of the sites, the Catacombs of Paris will not be accessible to people in wheelchairs or with a walker. Visits have strongly been discouraged for people:

  • With reduced mobility
  • Suffering from cardiac or respiratory insufficiency
  • Clustrophic
  • Young children, less than 10 years old

For safety reasons, it is prohibited to carry suitcases or a large bag. Only 40x30 cm bags are allowed and they must be carried in front of or by hand at all times. There is no cloakroom as the exit is located at 21bis, avenue René-Coty, nearly 700 meters from the entrance pavilion. It is also forbidden to eat or drink on the visit route. Access to pets will not be granted into the venue.

To maintain reduced capacity, all group reservations have been temporarily suspended.

It is mandatory for all visitors to book their slots in advance before making a visit. On site sales have been temporarily suspended to limit direct contact and overcrowding at the ticketing office.

Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
