Winner of Best New Comedy at the 2015 Laurence Olivier Awards, The Play that Goes Wrong is an riot! The original Broadway production opened to rave reviews in April 2017,and won a Tony and a Drama Desk Award. True to its name, the play is, indeed, about a play that goes very, very wrong, turning into an absolute hoot!
The play begins with the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society putting on a production of the 1920s play, The Murder at Haversham Manor. However, things take an unexpected turn, as the lead actor has a concussion, a cast member is knocked unconscious, people forget their lines, and break character. But wait, things go wrong with the set as well, and the misplaced props, doors that stick, and collapsing floors just add to the hilarity!
