The Lion King Discount Broadway Tickets Online

Produced by Disney’s Theatrical Productions team, “The Lion King” is Broadway’s third longest-running show and the highest grossing production to date, having earned over $1 billion since its debut. Chronicling the journey of young Simba to the throne, the musical is a brilliant retelling of the 1994 Disney animated classic.

Directed by Tony-winner Julie Taymor, and with music by Sir Elton John, lyrics by Tim Rice, score by Hans Zimmer and choreography by Garth Fagan, “The Lion King” showcases work from some of the finest names in Broadway. The show is one of theater's most extraordinary presentations of color, life, talent and creativity.

The Lion King Story

Growing up as the jungle prince, Simba idolised his father, Mufasa, one of the greatest rulers the African Pride Lands had ever seen. However, tragedy strikes the royal family when Mufasa’s jealous brother, Scar, orchestrates an incident that leads to Mufasa’s death. Simba is forced to flee to exile after his Uncle convinces him he was the one responsible for his father’s death, leaving his family and home behind.

Years pass and Simba grows up away from home. After reuniting with his childhood friend Nala, the truth about his father’s death becomes clear. Simba then sets off to return home and fulfill his destiny as king of the Pride Lands.

Winner of 6 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, watch this beautifully crafted production and grow with young Simba as he overcomes the odds to rise to the throne.
