Italy’s Galleria dell’Accademia reopens to the public after COVID-19 lockdown

The Galleria dell'Accademia Reopening Date - 26th May 2020


Along with other monuments and museums, Galleria dell'Accademia has also reopened in Italy on 26th May 2020. However, effective measures have been put in place ensuring maximum security and safety within the venue for all visitors.

As of now, there are no specific rules in place, except for social distancing, temperature checks and sanitisation at different points in the gallery.

Visitors can select the date and time of their choice before making a reservation online. It is advised to reach 15-20 minutes before the start time to avoid any delay at the venue. All guests are required to carry a valid photo which needs to be presented along with the tickets before entering the gallery.

The premises are equipped with lifts to access the first floor and lifting platforms between halls. Due to ongoing renovation work, at present the first floor is partly inaccessible. However, visitors can use the lift to reach halls XIX, XX, XXI, XXII, and XXIII.

Closing operations start from the Palladian wing on the ground floor 30 minutes before closing time. The ticket desks close at 1 p.m. on Monday and at 6.15 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday.
