Chicago on Broadway – Get Chicago Discount Tickets Online

There are so many reasons “Chicago” beams as one of Broadway’s best productions to date. Especially for theater newbies, “Chicago” offers a guaranteed amazing experience. From the revival’s perfectly apt cast to some of the most sensual and complex dancing to grace a Broadway stage, it’s the picture-book Broadway musical that even attracts fans for a second watch.

Unlike Broadway shows that start off as hits but fade in popularity, “Chicago” has aged like fine wine. Murder, violence, lust and greed - the show lures audiences over and over, never failing to seduce them. But more than just provocative, “Chicago” showcases sensational singing, dancing and acting. Iconic songs include “All That Jazz” and “Razzle Dazzle”. Inspiring an Academy-award winning movie of the same name, “Chicago” is a landmark Broadway musical and an absolute must-watch.

The Story

Set in the “Jazz hot” Chicago of the 1920s, the musical tells the story of Velma and Roxie, two rival vaudevillian murderesses who are locked in Cook County Jail. Velma is serving time for the murder of her husband and sister, while Roxie is in it for the murder of her boyfriend, with whom she cheated on her husband.

Velma takes the help of the prison matron, Mama morton, and enlists the services of slick Chicago lawyer Billy Flynn. Billy takes on the case and transforms Velma into a celebrity by brilliantly using the murder hypes to her advantage. But soon enough, he takes on the case of Roxie as well and, before you know it, the two murderesses find themselves in a battle for notoriety.

About Ambassador Theatre

The Ambassador Theatre opened in 1921, intended to primarily host musical comedies and operettas. The theatre was built on a lot that was too small, which resulted in the auditorium being built diagonally. This caused the auditorium to be distinctly hexagonal and the stage to be very wide, resulting in a lack of wing space.

The Ambassador Theatre has 1088 seats. You can find the seating chart here.
